The Universal Genève Polerouter holds a special place in our hearts.
These special timepieces embody a spirit of adventure and tap into the romance of mid-century air travel, an appreciation of nuanced design, and our appreciation for the very best horological engineering. With a myriad of configurations running the gamut from regularly attainable and accessibly-priced to incredibly exclusive rarified-air variants that rarely trade on the open market, the breadth and depth of the Polerouter story has captivated us for years. From the earliest days of Analog:Shift, Polerouters have been part of our inventory offerings - not to mention our personal collections - and continue to be to this day.
Despite a growing interest surrounding the model, very little published literature to date has done these watches the justice they deserve, or provided the collector community with proper reference material.
The long-awaited, comprehensive guide to the Universal Genève Polerouter has finally landed, and we’re delighted to say that we’ve got a handful of Limited Edition, numbered hardcover copies available for purchase, exclusively at Analog:Shift!
‘The Polerouter’ is an encyclopedic piece of literature — full stop. It’s written with painstaking detail, exhaustively researched, and beautifully photographed. Filled with previously unseen documents from the Universal Genève archives, any horological library, coffee table or Polerouter collection isn't complete without this special volume.
You won’t find ‘The Polerouter’ Limited Edition anywhere else. Only 150 of these individually numbered books were produced, and we've got the remaining quantity.

From The Authors
After many years of collecting and four focused years of research, The Polerouter book is finally ready.
The book begins by telling the story of the Polerouter’s connection with the inaugural trans-polar flights by Scandinavian Airlines System in 1954. It continues with a chapter for each of the Polerouter models and includes additional chapters for reference material.
We collaborated with collectors from all over the world in order to curate 120 of the finest and rarest examples. Each watch has been captured in its own way to best display its unique characteristics.
The book was written with the support of Universal Genève who allowed us unique access to their archives. As a result, the book features masses of previously unseen material including technical drawings, catalogues, brochures and advertising. Also included are the original production records illustrating numerous references and bracelet options and updated information regarding serial numbers, reference numbers and logos.
The Polerouter is a cult classic and staple of any vintage watch collection and this book celebrates its history, design and diversity and is an essential purchase for not just Polerouter or Universal Genève collectors but for all vintage watch enthusiasts.
